An ATOM card is provided when you open a checking or savings account. With your card, you receive a
security code called a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that gives you worldwide access to your
LANB accounts.
There is no charge to our account customers for use any of Los Alamos National Bank's ATOM's in
Los Alamos or in the Santa Fe area for the following transactions:
- Cash from checking or savings accounts
- Cash from ABC Loan account
- Cash advance on MasterCard or Visa
- Inquiries about checking and savings account balances
- Deposits to checking or savings
- Loan payments
- Transfer funds from one account to another
ATOM Advantages
- Daily withdrawal limits are higher than most other financial institutions allow. This is limited
to Los Alamos National Bank ATOM machines and may not apply to machines with affiliated networks.
- You may access up to eight accounts with one ATOM card. A Customer Service Representative will
be happy to help you link your accounts.
Point of Sale
Retailers who provide Point of Sale programs may accept your ATOM card for purchases in lieu of
cash or a check. Point-of-Sale purchases are deducted from your checking account and are not
available to customers who have their ATOM card linked only to their savings account. Be sure to
record the transaction.

you see these symbols:
Using Other Automatic Tellers
Transactions processed through Plus networks include:
- Cash from checking and savings accounts
- Cash advance with your LANB MasterCard or Visa
- Inquiries about checking and savings account balances
- Transfer funds between checking and savings account
A transaction fee (usually $1.00) is assessed for use of Plus network automatic teller
machines. This is deducted from your account and shown on your monthly bank statement.
If you are unable to locate an automatic teller machine that displays the Plus symbol, call
toll-free, 1-800-THE-PLUS from any touch-tone phone. You will be asked to enter the area code and
telephone prefix from your calling location. You will then be given the location of a PLUS ATM in
your calling area.
For Your Protection
Security is important when using an automatic teller machine. We offer the following guidelines:
- Memorize your PIN. Do not write it on your ATOM card or carry it with you.
- Do not give your PIN to anyone who should not have access to the money in your accounts.
- Do not allow anyone waiting nearby to see the keyboard as you enter your PIN. Your PIN appears
on the screen as XXXX.
- Be sure to take your ATOM card and your receipt from the machine before you leave.
- Keep an accurate record of your transactions.
- Be aware of any potentially unsafe conditions when using any automatic teller machine. If you
are suspicious of another person in the area, wait for him or her to leave or return later yourself.
- Consider using a drive-up or locked-access automatic teller machine for additional security,
especially at night.
- Prepare all the paperwork and cash for deposit BEFORE you arrive at the ATOM. Take an extra
deposit envelope from the automatic teller machine with you for next time.
